Montana is not necessarily known for it's viticulture and that is why our grapes come from our neighbors to the west. MontaVino Winery sources grapes grown in the Columbia Valley and Yakima Valley of Washington state. These areas provide a drier climate and more abundant sun than Flathead Valley. Dry sunshine helps to aid in the production of sugars (via photosynthesis), color development and heat accumulation for overall physiological ripening.
